Which? Reveals almost half of eye tests are very poor!

In August 2007 Which? magazine conducted undercover research of eye testing opticians that revealed that almost half of the eye test carried out were inadequate. The survey raised serious concerns about the quality of eye tests being conducted in the UK. In conclusion Which? recommended that;

“the General Optical Council to carry out spot checks of eye tests, to stop people’s health being put at risk”.

We can find no evidence in the GOC annual reports to show that this recommendation has been implemented or if it has what the results of spot checks are.

    I wish someone would do this same test here in the U.S.A. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the results were similar.
